Manager Steve Davis called for his players to “stand up and be counted” following a heavy 5-0 defeat at Brentford.

“We have all got to stand up and be counted” – Steve Davis

Former striker Clayton Donaldson scored twice as the Railwaymen remain in trouble towards the bottom of the table.

“We have got to work harder, stick together and do much much better,”
Davis admitted to Crewe’s official website. “We have all got to stand up and be counted and it is time to act because it is going to a long hard season in a tough league otherwise.”

Crewe can at least switch attention to an FA Cup first round replay with Wycombe Wanderers next week.
