Crewe have taken 27-year old forward Ryan Lowe (pictured left) on trial. Despite being Chester’s top scorer this season with 13 goals in 30 starts, Chester agreed to mutually terminate his contract at the end of last month after a bust up with manager Mark Wright over tactics. 5’11 Lowe, who can also play on the left of midfield, can’t sign for another club this season as he was under contract at Chester City after the close of the transfer window. Therefore, Lowe is looking for a club for next season and arrived at Crewe courtesy of a recommendation from friend Luke Rodgers. Lowe has been described as ‘a cracking player when he puts his mind to it’, who’ll give 100% and win over the fans, though he perhaps thought that he was too good for Chester. Only time will tell if this proves to be the case.
