On loan defender Alan Tate is returning to parent club Swansea City next week as Crewe Alexandra consider a fresh move for his services in January.

“He has had a positive affect around the place and he has fitted in really well” – Steve Davis

The experienced 32-year-old has actually found restricted opportunities due to
injury problems at Gresty Road, with just half-a-dozen appearances during his three-month stay – although his influence has always been significant.

“Alan has done well when he has played and he has been fantastic around the place,” manager Steve Davis told Crewe’s official website. “He has great experience and the boys look up to him and have learnt a great deal from him.

“He has had a positive affect around the place and he has fitted in really well,” he added. “I’m sure he has thoroughly enjoyed himself and it is something we will consider doing again in January.”
