Crewe Alexandra On This Day – March 7th

There have been two games played on March 7th this century.

In 2009, we hosted Hereford United at the Alexandra Stadium. Billy Jones opened the scoring for the hosts in the 55th minute with Toumani Diagouraga levelling with 11 to play with Jones getting the winner from the penalty spot 3 minutes later. Sam Hewson was shown a straight red card for United 10 minutes after half-time.

The other game saw us host Scunthorpe United 3 years ago. Greg Leigh opened the scoring after 54 minutes before Marcus Haber added a second a minute later.
