Chester City have confirmed their interest in Alex striker Ryan Lowe. The 29 year old is set to return to the Deva Stadium this summer – as long as he can sort out a settlement with the club.

Lowe has fallen out of favour under Steve Holland and was told last month that he’s free to leave the club if he wishes, despite Holland insisting Lowe would still figure slightly in his first team plans.

Having made over 60 appearances at League One level during his two years at Crewe, Lowe has been a bit of fans favourite. He, however, never quite managed to top his hat-trick against Carlisle in 2006 as the Alex romped to a 5-1 home win.

A move back to Chester for Lowe was only rumoured until recently, but today Chester owner Stephen Vaughan confirmed that they would like Lowe to return.

Vaughan told the Chester Chronicle: “Ryan Lowe is a target for Chester City. We`re interested in signing him, but he`s got to sort out a settlement with Crewe before anything can happen.”
