Latest loan signing Marlon Broomes hinted he would be happy to stay at Gresty Road beyond his one month loan.

The former Stoke defender played his first full 90 minutes in over 2 years in Tuesday’s 4-2 defeat at Peterborough.

The 31 year old signed from Blackpool on Monday and went straight into Tuesday’s squad, impressing at the back despite the result.

Speaking to Radio Stoke, Broomes said he just wants to get more games:

‘It’s for a month at the moment and after that who knows. I just want to get fitter and play football.

‘The result was disappointing but it was nice to get a competitive game under my belt, it’s been nearly three years since I’ve played a competitive match.

‘I know we’re down at the bottom but I’ll give them 110% and see if we can climb out of it.’

He looks set to continue in defence with fellow loanee Dennis Lawrence for the visit of Tranmere on Saturday.
