Billy Jones so nearly completes a perfect week but just misses out on League One Player of the Month.

Billy eventually came second to Peterborough’s Aaron McLean for the Powerade Player Of The Month for February.

Jones’s performances have been top notch since Gudjon Thordarson arrived and with goals added to his locker he has quickly turned from boo boy to fan favourite!

From left back position, Billy scored three goals in five games during February, with his brilliant winner at Southend kick starting a run of four wins on the trot which earned Gudjon manager of the month.

He added two more in the final game of the season, a free kick and a penalty converted in the 4-0 win at Brighton. Of course he started March as he finished February with two goals on Saturday to secure us the points against Hereford.

He was beaten to the February accolade by Posh’s McLean who scored goals in six games for the promotion contenders.

Three goals from a left back is a better return than five goals from a striker I’d say if we compare the two. 😉
