Back In For Bishop?

Some speculation suggests Crewe might be back in the market for Bury striker Andy Bishop now the January transfer window has re-opened.

Bishop has scored 10 goals in 20 league games this season for The Shakers and was continually linked with Crewe last January and in the summer with Crewe reportedly having a bid for the former York City man turned down.

Huddersfield are also believed to interested in 26 year-old Bishop, whose contract expires in the summer, perhaps prompting Bury to look to offload the player for a sizeable fee.

It is likely that with the rumour mill now in full flow, that this speculation has come from our past interest in the player, but new manger Gudjon Thordarson will no doubt be assessing many options whilst the transfer window is open and Bishop could well be one.

For his (probable) price and having seen the likes of Elding fail…. no thanks, not any more. Plus, a striker is probably bottom of our wish list.

We need a left back and centre half, not a striker

I agree, we’ve wasted enough money on strikers now and Bury boss has said will take a massive offer to prize him away. Can’t see us been that interested anyway…centre half and midfield should be priority.
