Part-time captain David Artell believes his Railwaymen should have beaten Stevenage yesterday, blasting the Hertfordshire club for their approach to the game.

Artell has been instrumental in helping the Alex plug a leaky defence this season and he reckons that Stevenage got a bit of luck to go in 1-0 up at half time

Speaking to BBC Radio Stoke, Artell thought the Alex should have left with three points:

“It was pretty even in the first half, I think they were a bit lucky to go in at half time 1-0 up but we came out in the second half and showed our true qualities and with a bit more luck in front of goal we could have got the three points.

“I think 75% of players and supporters would have taken a point before the game so we can`t be too disheartened, we`re three unbeaten. There`ll be plenty of teams that come to Stevenage and get turned over this year.”

As for hot topic for the day Nick Powell, Artell expects the youngster to have a great career, but wasn`t best pleased with how Stevenage dealt with the 16 year old

“I thought he was fantastic, absolutely unbelievable. His attitude is fantastic, he`s going to be a top, top player.

“He got kicked from pillar to post, as did every other player to be honest. I`ve never seen a side give so many fouls and get away with it.”

No offence ladies, but he’s a wining little ******. There ws hardly a tackle in the 1st half, and the worst one of the game was from one of your players!
