Harry Davis Joins Morecambe

|

Morecambe have completed the signing of former Grimsby Town defender Harry Davis on a 12-month deal, the club announced yesterday. The centre-back has become their second signing of the summer.

Davis, 28, came through the Alex’s academy set-up and would make over 200 appearances for the club before leaving the club for St. Mirren, initially on loan in January 2017 before making the move permanent that summer while he has spent the last two seasons with the Mariners.

He joins fellow Academy Alum (as well as 2012 League 2 play-off and 2013 EFL Trophy winner) AJ Leitch-Smith at the Globe Arena.

What does this signing mean for Morecambe?

He’s a solid enough defender for this level that has made over 300 career appearances that could also play as a full-back if necessary.

Looking at the defensive problems that Morecambe have had over the last couple of seasons, having conceded 130 goals between the last two seasons, he can offer his experience to the younger players around him seeing as he has also played in League 1 for about half of his career to date.
