The Academy Alumni column sees a reduced schedule this week as the international break sees no games for the Premier League and Championship sides.

In League 1, Kelvin Mellor played the full game for Bradford City in their 3-1 defeat at Accrington Stanley whilst Liam Nolan was not involved for the hosts.

Gareth Evans scored the winner before being replaced in the 89th minute for Portsmouth in their 2-1 away victory at AFC Wimbledon.

Junior Brown played the full 90 minutes for Coventry City in their 1-0 home win against Wycombe Wanderers.

Ryan Colclough played the full 90 minutes for Scunthorpe United in their 2-0 home defeat against Peterborough United with George Cooper coming on in second-half stoppage-time for the visitors.

Into League 2 where Billy Waters was replaced in second-half stoppage-time for Northampton Town in their 2-1 victory at home to Forest Green Rovers.

AJ Leitch-Smith (82 minutes, goal) and Jason Oswell shared 90 minutes for Morecambe in their 2-0 away victory at Carlisle United.

Ben Garratt, Perry Ng, George Ray, Harry Pickering, James Jones, Ryan Wintle, Callum Ainley and Charlie Kirk all played the full game (with Kirk scoring) for Crewe Alexandra in their 1-1 home draw against Bury. Shaun Miller came on for the final 28 minutes with Tom Lowery and Ollie Finney being unused substitutes whilst Nicky Maynard played the full game and scored for Bury and Byron Moore was not involved for the visitors.

Will Appleyard was an unused substitute for Stevenage in their 2-1 defeat at Newport County.

Finally, Brendon Daniels was an unused substitute for Port Vale in their 6-2 home loss to Lincoln City whilst Michael O’Connor wasn’t involved for the visitors.
