A move for French defender Stéphane Zubar looks to be a non-start after tentative enquiries by Dario were rebutted with wage demands.

Zubar was recommended over the weekend by Plymouth manager Peter Reid, who last week saw Zubar depart Home Park on a free transfer having recently deferred his wage for the cash-stapped Argyle.

Dario approached the 24 year old whilst down in Devon in regards to a move up North but wages demands soon put pay to any potential move.

Whilst Dario hopes a deal could be resurrected, it is all a tad ambitious having seen Zubar impress for Argyle in a division higher last season. The summer also saw him linked with the likes of MK Dons and Preston North End.

At least it looks good in the headlines, anyone would think we were busting a gut for new players, and had the money for them to boot.
