Youth Keeper Gets England Call

Crewe’s 16 year old goalkeeper Ben Garrett has been called up to the England U-17 squad.

Part of the golden year group in the Alex Academy, Garrett joins Nick Powell and Max Clayton in receiving England calls, with the latter two almost integral parts of the England side.

At 16 Garrett is already Crewe’s U-18’s goalkeeper and along with eight of his team mates signed long term scholarships this summer, securing their future with the club.

Garrett’s age group is widely said to be the best tha club has ever produced and with three of them in the England set up, two of them close to a England call and Nick Powell ready to make his league debut any day – the future certainly looks bright!
