Young Alex Side Beaten By Bristol City In Under-23s Clash

|

Eddie Nolan’s second-half goal was not enough for Crewe Alexandra to get anything out of their trip to Bristol City thanks to a goal in both halves from Sam Bell that were added to by Louis Britton and Vince Harper.

With the first-team in action tonight at home to league leaders Lincoln City, manager Alex Morris was forced to name a young side but the team was not made public.

The hosts would take the lead in the 29th minute with Louis Britton converting Bell’s cross before the provider would turn scorer 5 minutes before the break. They would get their third on the hour-mark through Harper before Eddie Nolan got one back for the Alex minutes later. Bell would add his second 16 minutes from time from the penalty spot.

The next games for the Alex at this level will be a trip to Witton Albion in the Cheshire Senior Cup first round tomorrow night before hosting Cardiff City on Sunday afternoon as we return to U23 league action.

Crewe: Team not announced

Bristol C: Wollacott, Soady, Williams, Harrison (c), Porton, Owers, Harper, Pearson, Britton, S. Bell, Smith
