David Artell, Ashley Westwood and Clayton Donaldson will all be checked up on by Dario before deciding his team for tomorrow’s home match against Southend United.

Westwood and Donaldson have missed training today after picking up slight knocks during Saturday’s win over Chesterfield.

Westy was withdrawn from action in place of goalscorer Danny Shelley with 10 minutes remaining after getting a kick to his calf as early as the first minute of the game.

Top scorer Donaldson meanwhile was in visible discomfort for much of the match but managed to complete the full 90 minutes up front.

Whilst neither trained today, Dario is expecting to have both fit enough to face Southend tomorrow evening.

The only other concern from the weekend is the fitness of captain David Artell. Dario replaced Artell with old boy Ashley Westwood five minutes before the end with concerns the 30 year old was tiring.

Artell has strained today and Dario will take the chance to check out his fitness.

Dario told The Official Website: ‘I thought Dave looked a bit tired towards the end of the game and that was the reason I took him off.

‘I will check on Dave today, to see how he is. He has played a lot of games and we have a few Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday games coming up. If he is okay then he will play though.’

Let’s hope that all three are fit and raring to go tomorrow. night. The absence of Donaldson would no doubt be felt more than the other two, with Ashley Westwood really struggling to re-capture his form at the moment and Matt Tootle waiting in the wings to return to the back line.

But it’s a struggle to remember the last time we won without ClayDo in the side. In fact, I would guess that it was last season.
