Danny Woodards could still yet sign a new deal at Gresty Road, says the player’s agent.
The right back refused to discuss a new contract under Holland, willing to run down his current deal to it’s expiration in the summer.
It was a blow to the club having seen the £30,000 signing from Exeter become, arguable, one of the club’s better players since his arrival in January 2006. But with the club’s resurgence under Gudjon Thordarson this year, the change in fortune could see Woodards u-turn and sign a new deal.
Nothing is certain yet and much will depend on which division we’ll be in from next season as well as the wages Danny can be offered, as his agent Terry Rowe told The Sentinel:
‘They have had general discussions, but they are going to sit down soon for some more talks. Danny wants to play and progress as high as he can, but he has reached the point where if it was acceptable (contract offer) he would like to stay. It will be down to what Crewe can afford.’
