Norwich and Colchester are among the clubs reported to be interested in signing Danny Woodards.

The former Exeter right back leaves Crewe on a free this summer after turning down the offer of a new contract. On top of relegation to League Two Woodards has confirmed that a move back down South to his family was a major factor in his decision.

After proving to be one of our best players during his two and a half years at the club it was never in doubt that he’d pick up a new club instantly, and reports suggest up to four clubs are looking to secure the 25 year old.

As well as Norwich and Colchester are also MK Dons, last season’s League One play-off semi-finalists. All three would fit Woody’s wish to move back South but interest from Championship Doncaster Rovers could throw those plans up in the air.
