Crewe Alexandra’s new League One rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the arrival of former Millwall manager Kenny Jackett as their new head coach.

Meanwhile, the Lions have announced they have received compensation following the 51-year-old’s appointment at Molineux. He recently resigned from his role at Millwall after more than five years in charge of the south London club.

Jackett’s coaching and managerial career has also included successful spells with both Watford and Swansea City in the past.

The news will come as a particular relief to Alex fans as their manager and boyhood Wolves fan Steve Davis had also been in the frame to succeed former Wanderers boss Dean Saunders.
