Winger Michael West is keen to finally get off the mark for Crewe Alexandra.

“I’m still getting the sharpness back after spending nine weeks on the sidelines” – Michael West

The 21-year-old has suffered injury problems since arriving from Conference outfit Ebbsfleet United in the summer. West was always a regular scorer in non-league and has so far managed two assists for his new club in his five appearances.

His debut for the Alex was initially delayed by a couple of niggling knocks until finally taking his bow late last month. However, a calf strain then ruled him out of the weekend victory against Colchester United.

“I’ve set-up a couple of goals and should have found the net myself a couple of times too – but it’s going all right,” West told the
Crewe Chronicle. “I love getting among the goals, but I’m still getting the sharpness back after spending nine weeks on the sidelines.”
