Released Crewe Alexandra winger John Johnston has rejoined Conference Premier strugglers Alfreton Town.

The 20-year-old already featured half-a-dozen times for them during a recent loan spell but now arrives on an eighteen-month contract.

Johnston originally signed for the Railwaymen from Leek Town in January 2013 before immediately being loaned back to his former club. He failed to make an appearance at Gresty Road.

Alfreton have also extended Sheffield United goalkeeper George Willis’ loan spell until next month.

Both players started their latest 1-1 draw with Torquay United at the weekend.
