Manager Steve Davis is hoping for a final decision from out-of-contract winger Byron Moore later this week.

Moore is currently deciding over new terms at Gresty Road after scoring ten times last season – including during the play-off final victory against Cheltenham Town.

There had been speculation of a possible move to the Scottish Premier League, where given his age he would have been available to move without compensation. However, Aberdeen and Hibernian both later denied any approach.

“Byron has been away on holiday but I have contacted him and he has told me he is very close to a decision,” Davis told Alex’s official website. “He knows I would like to know either way because I will have to make plans if he wants to go elsewhere.”
