Crewe Alexandra are continuing to make progress in their bid to keep out-of-contract winger Byron Moore at the club.

The 23-year-old forward is back in training with the rest of the squad but still hasn’t yet signed the new deal offered to him.

He netted ten goals in 49 appearances last season, including during the Wembley play-off final victory against Cheltenham Town in May.

“We are very close with Byron,” manager Steve Davis revealed to Crewe’s official website. “I spoke with his agent yesterday, and have had conversations with Byron over the last week.

“I will speak again with his agent today and hopefully we get something agreed,” he added.
