Steve Davis says the recent experience of Wembley can seriously help his players against West Ham United tomorrow evening.

“The majority of them played at Wembley and handled that occasion very well” – Steve Davis

Crewe visit the Premier League newcomers in the second round of the Capital One Cup after comfortably disposing of Hartlepool United in the previous round.

Since that game the Alex have found their form in the league to be decidely mixed, with a hard-fought win at Scunthorpe United flanked by disappointing defeats to Notts County and Brentford.

But Davis believes their big-stage experience of Wembley in their play-off final victory against Cheltenham Town back in May should certainly serve them well in the capital.

“The majority of them played at Wembley and handled that occasion very well, so I expect the same again,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “Everyone is looking forward to it and there is no real pressure on us.”
