Crewe Alexandra expect a tough clash this weekend as they travel to face Coventry City at their temporary Sixfields home in Northampton.

Striker Vadaine Oliver misses the game due to a one-match suspension following his sending-off last week. Either Chuks Aneke or AJ Leitch-Smith is likely to be recalled.

Elsewhere, on loan goalkeeper Neil Etheridge is another casualty after returning to parent club Fulham for treatment. With the experienced Steve Phillips similarly unavailable because of a shoulder injury, Alan Martin and Ben Garratt challenge for a starting place .

Otherwise, Ryan Colclough (abdominal), Mathias Pogba (knee), Max Clayton (ankle) and Ollie Turton (knee) remain sidelined.

Mid-table Coventry are welcoming back Leon Clarke following three weeks out and strike partner Callum Wilson also returns from suspension.

Meanwhile, centre-back Jordan Willis is still missing with a knee problem, but loan duo Chris Dagnall and Chris Maguire are back in contention having been ineligible for last week’s FA Cup tie.
