Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis confirms he will select his strongest available side against Rochdale in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Gresty Road later this evening.

“We want to do well in the competition and go as far as we can” – Steve Davis

The Railwaymen’s only victory so far this season arrived in knockout football when beating Barnsley in the Capital One Cup.

Meanwhile, their heaviest defeat came when losing 5-2 at home to their latest opponents in the league only last month.

“We want to do well in the competition and go as far as we can,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “I won’t be throwing anyone in because there is no reason for us to do that. We want to get back to winning games and although the 16 may pick itself, we will be strong and looking to get through.”
