Angry Crewe Alexanda manager Steve Davis has called his players in for extra training on Sunday following their 1-1 draw with Chester.

“Some performances were inept. We can’t let players make the same mistakes over and over” – Steve Davis

Davis was decidedly unhappy after witnessing a poor display in which Harry Davis’ first-half penalty was cancelled out by Danny Harrison.

“The players will be in every day next week, and the weekend, and the week after until we get it right,” Davis told the Crewe Chronicle. “Some performances were inept. We can’t let players make the same mistakes over and over.

“If they can’t do better we will move them on. I can’t accept that,” he warned. “There’s no lack of effort, it’s in their minds. They have own ideas of how to play and that doesn’t fit in when trying to build a team.”
