Crewe Alexandra are in Sunday afternoon’s draw for the FA Cup second round following a 1-1 scoreline with Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park.

“If we had taken some of them like we should have then we could have won by three or four goals” – Steve Davis

The Railwaymen had the ideal start when Anthony Grant earned them the lead inside the opening five minutes, only for Paris Cowan-Hall to equalise before the break.

The two clubs must now replay at Gresty Road on Tuesday 19th November.

“I am happy we are still in it,” manager Steve Davis admitted to Crewe’s official website. “We are in the draw and we can look forward to that but we had enough changes to have won it on the day.

“If we had taken some of them like we should have then we could have won by three or four goals and been out of sight,” he added. “We haven’t and I was disappointed with the goal we conceded.”

The draw takes place at around 4.10 pm tomorrow and is being covered live on ITV1 – with Crewe or Wycombe allocated ball number 39.
