Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis admits he is still searching for a more clinical approach from his forwards.

“We didn’t create enough chances and didn’t get in behind them enough” – Steve Davis

It follows the disappointing midweek 3-0 defeat at Hartlepool United, when Davis gave most of them an opportunity to prove their worth. He remains concerned about the overall lack of regular threat at the top end of the pitch.

“We didn’t create enough chances and didn’t get in behind them enough,” Davis conceded to Crewe’s official website. “We have tried different players, in different positions and in different systems to make us more of a threat

“There was a whole host of things to look at after Hartlepool and making us more of threat in the final third is one of them,” he warned.
