Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis wasn’t particularly happy following the 1-0 pre-season loss to Blackburn Rovers last night.

“They are not where I want them to be at the moment” – Steve Davis

Former Alex youngster Grant Hanley scored the only goal and Davis believes his players are currently behind schedule at this stage of proceedings.

“I wasn’t particularly happy with the overall performance,” Davis admitted to Crewe’s official website. “I don’t think any of them came through as they should have done and I wasn’t happy with most of them.

“They have to sharpen up and sharpen their minds because they are not where I want them to be at the moment,” he continued. “Hopefully with a couple of weeks to go and a couple of decent fixtures to look forward to, I am sure we will get there.”
