Crewe Alexandra are still failing to reach their required standard according to their manager Steve Davis.

“The players have made mistakes and I’ve made mistakes” – Steve Davis

The Alex currently sit in fifteenth place in the table after taking thirteen points from their opening eleven league games.

And Davis conceded that it wasn’t just his players that are on a learning curve following their promotion last season.

“We are behind the target I set myself at the start of the season,” Davis admitted to the Crewe Chronicle. “The win over Hartlepool on Saturday was important to get in a better position but we need to keep going.

“The transition from League Two has been good overall, not always smooth, but a learning curve for us all,” he added. “The players have made mistakes and I’ve made mistakes. But we have to learn.”
