Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis admits his side are currently lacking in terms of creativity.

“There was none of that real skill or individual brilliance you need to open a defence up” – Steve Davis

The Railwaymen lost for the fourth time in seven league games after visitors Walsall scored three times without reply after the break.

Worse still was the fact that the hosts rarely threatened throughout the game and managed only a couple of meaningful efforts at goal during the entire ninety minutes.

“We didn’t look too much of a threat going forward. There was none of that real skill or individual brilliance you need to open a defence up,” Davis admitted to Crewe’s official website. “There was nothing of what Ryan [Colclough] can do or what Powelly [Nick Powerll] did for us in the past. That is missing from our forward play at the moment and we have to be better in the final third.”
