Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis felt his side should definitely have taken something from their 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe United.

“We have played really well and got nothing for our efforts” – Steve Davis

On loan striker Nicky Ajose was on target for the visitors, who eventually lost out to goals from fellow loanee Luke Williams and Miguel Llera.

“The players are very frustrated in the dressing room because we have played really well and got nothing for our efforts,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We played some excellent football today and at times we were unplayable.

“We were a threat throughout the game, had a number of chances and the new forwards give us hope,” he continued. “We can’t feel too down after today because we played some good football and it was just one of those days for us when lady luck wasn’t with us.”
