Defender Matt Tootle believes there is no reason why Crewe Alexandra can’t go to Coventry City and get a decent result this evening.

“There is no reason why we cannot go to Coventry and get a good result” – Matt Tootle

The two clubs are meeting in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Area first-leg tie at the Ricoh Arena, with the eventual winners taking on either Southend United or Leyton Orient in the final of the competition at Wembley.

Crewe have already defeated the admittedly now much-improved Sky Blues earlier in the season, and Tootle, who signed a new deal with the club only this week, was remaining confident they can do it again.

“There is no reason why we cannot go to Coventry and get a good result,” he told Crewe’s official website. “The most important thing in a two-legged tie is to make sure you are still in the tie. We have the home leg still to come which will give us a slight advantage.”
