Loan midfielder Simon Walton says he’s looking to secure his future either at Crewe or elsewhere as he looks set to exit Plymouth Argyle.

The 22 year old has been on loan at the Alex pretty much all season, making 22 starts. In the last couple of weeks he’s found himself out of the side as Westwood and Bailey emerge as real talents whilst a rib injury ruled him out of Saturday’s Vale Park trip.

With his parent club Plymouth Argyle looking set to off load Walton in the summer, despite him having two years left on his contract, Walton says he needs to get games in order to secure his future away from Home Park.

Walton told BBC Sport: ‘I’m not happy to sit on the bench, that’s not what I came here to do and not the person that I am,

‘From a selfish point of view, I’ve still got to try and impress the people who are watching or the people at Crewe.’
