On the day we’re apparently so close to signing him, Simon Walton returns to the Plymouth fold.

The Argyle midfielder hadn’t starred for Plymouth since mid-December after a falling out with Paul Sturrock.

This morning it was reported by The Sentinel that Thordarson was eyeing Walton to fix his midfield troubles. However, hours after the report Walton was named in Argyle’s team to face Ipswich.

He went on to play 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw.

So, looks like that one’s over before it began.
