Crewe will take a look at two further trialists this week in the search for a first signing of the summer, including Leicester City defender Tom Parkes.

We have seen defenders Josh Gowling and Curstis Haynes-Brown as well as striker Mark McCammon come and go already as trialists this month.

Now the club will cast its eye over Leicester defender Tom Parkes and Welling United midfielder/striker Loick Pires.

Parkes is a 6ft 2in centre back who’s currently on the books of Leicester City. The 19 year old has already had loan spells with Burton Albion and Yeovil Town in the past 18 months and was a regular for the England U-17s back in 2008-2009. If he impresses on trial it’s likely a loan move to Gresty Road could be in the offing.

Loick Pires is a former Leyton Orient striker who can also play as a winger. The former Stoke youth player played 15 games for Leyton Orient before joining Welling last season, where he scored 9 in 27 games. At 6th 3pm, he certainly seems to be a mobile big man that Dario’s after.

Both players are likely to be given games in this weeks friendlies against the likes of Newcastle Town, Quorn and Nantwich.
