Two More Caps For Billy

Crewe Alexandra defender Billy Sass-Davies has won two more caps for Wales at Under-21 during this international window.

Sass-Davies, 21, played the full game for his country in their 7-0 win in Gibraltar on Friday night before doing the same in their 1-0 defeat at home to Switzerland at Newport County’s Rodney Parade this afternoon, playing in a back 4 alongside Everton’s Ryan Astley, Swansea City’s Brandon Cooper and Liverpool’s Owen Beck in both games.

Wales now sit in 3rd-place in their qualifying group after 6 games with 7 points, 9 points behind the Swiss in their pursuit of a playoff spot for the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championships that will be held in Romania and Georgia with the return fixture against the Swiss and a home game with Bulgaria to come in March 2022 before home games against the Netherlands and Gibraltar round out the group next June.

These appearances were the sixth and seventh caps for Sass-Davies at Under-21 level after winning 4 caps at Under-19 level back in 2017 and 2018.
