Tuesday’s Opponents Confident

Tuesday’s opponents Gillingham are in a confident mood, with chairman Paul Scally almost certain promotion is theirs.

With only two league wins in their last seven games, they aren’t exactly high up in the bookies view, but the Gills do feel that their new manager Paul Stimson, recently acquired from Stevenage, has what it takes to lead them to glory.

Outspoken Gillingham chairman Paul Scally thinks that his club will become a force in League One this season, especially over the Christmas period.

He told the official Gillingham website: ‘We’ll get promoted – I have thought that all season.

‘We’ve brought in almost a new team and manager and changed it round, all within the first 16 games.

‘That took a bit of doing and the benefits will show as we approach Christmas and into the New Year.’

Gillingham are Tuesday night’s visitors to Gresty Road and with the Alex looking to extend our 3 game winning streak at home, it’ll be interesting to see if Scally’s claims have any depth.

Former loanee striker Chris Dickson, having scored 8 in 11, looks set to face his former team mates in that game.

If we ever find his dealer we’ll have the pair of them strung up from the nearest lamp post.
Of course if we do go up we’ll all feel like a bunch of****s for not putting a bet on.
On a serious note, should be a good game on Tuesday.
