Crewe Alexandra are likely to still be without three players for their latest set of friendlies at Leek on Friday and Nantwich Town the following day.

Goalkeeper Steve Phillips is currently sidelined with a knee injury and recently underwent a scan to determine the extent of the problem.

Meanwhile, Luke Murphy was forced to withdraw from the Monday night trip to Quorn due to aggravating his knee injury in the recent win at Congleton Town.

Similarly, defender Kelvin Mellor was not expected to be back in action for at least a couple of weeks following ankle surgery at the end of last season.
