Ex-Alex defender Anthony Tonkin is to have a trial at Lincoln City. Tonkin was released from Yeovil Town this summer after a 2nd period at the club.
The 27 year old left Crewe last year, 3 years after making the £150,000 move to Gresty Road from Stockport County. Tonkin was seen largely as disappointment at the Alex despite making over 80 appearances in red.
He rejoined his boyhood club, Yeovil, after leaving the Alex but failed to impress second time round as he only made 5 appearances for the Somerset side. He spent the end of the season on loan at non-league side Grays Athletic before his release.
Tonkin will now hope to impress enough over the next couple of weeks to earn himself a contract at Sincil Bank.
