Crewe make their first every journey to the Prostar stadium for their second derby in a week against old rivals Shrewsbury Town.

Vital Quotes:

Crewe manager Gudjon Thordarson. On the game: ‘It will be a tough game at Shrewsbury because they are a good side and have good players, who can hurt you. They had a disappointing home defeat to Bradford last weekend so they will be looking to put that right in front of their own supporters.

‘I am looking forward to it. I’m sure we will take a number of supporters there because it is not that far and it is a new stadium for them to visit. They have been excellent with us this season and even when things were not going right against Stockport they stayed behind us and supported us.’

Thordarson on tactics: ‘If we are not at our best then we could become unstuck. We need to defend properly and make sure we take our chances when they come.

‘That is what we are about. My priority will be to keep things tight and not concede or leak silly goals. If people don’t like that approach then really I cannot help them because that is the way you win football matches.’ (Source: crewealex.net)

Shrews Manager Paul Simpson: ‘Crewe is a local derby and they’ve had some good results. I’m confident that if we’re on our game, we’ll do okay.’ (Source: www.bbc.co.uk/sport)

James Bailey has returned to training but won’t be risked while Chris Clements and Ajay Leitch-Smith, recently returned from loan spells in Iceland, have impressed in training but will be rested.

Crewe likely to be unchanged from last saturday’s victory against Macc, though Shaun Miller is pushing for a start after impressing in midweek for the reserves, grabbing a goal against Everton’s second string.

Player to watch: Joel Grant
