Steve Davis described it as a “horrible afternoon” after witnessing his Crewe Alexandra side collapse to a 5-1 home defeat to Peterborough United at Gresty Road.

“It was a horrible afternoon for everyone” – Steve Davis

Posh midfielder Jermaine Anderson
struck twice alongside Jon Taylor, Conor Washington and Lee Angol – and those against a solitary reply from Ryan Colclough.

“It was a horrible afternoon for everyone,” Davis told BBC Radio Stoke. “There were not any positives to take from the game, aside from possibly Ryan Colclough’s goal because it was a terrific strike.

“Every game this season we have been in it, up to a point, but we weren’t today and that is the most disappointing thing,” he continued. “We started the second half slow and and bang, bang, bang before we knew it, it’s 4-0. It is extremely hard after that and I was disappointed with all aspects of our play after that.”
