Crewe Alexandra may hand youngster James Baillie a full debut at Crawley Town this weekend.

“He believes he is ready if we need him so that is a real positive” – Steve Davis

Defender Baillie is on standby in case skipper Matt Tootle doesn’t manage to recover from a recent bout of illness.

The eighteen-year-old already marked his senior debut when coming on as a substitute on the opening day of the season at Fleetwood Town.

“If Matt doesn’t make it then it could be another chance for young James,” manager Steve Davis told Crewe’s official website. “He played well against Forest on Monday and he believes he is ready if we need him so that is a real positive.”
