Chelsea’s young keeper Rhys Taylor has arrived on a two month loan deal at Gresty Road.

The move has been in the pipeline for the last few weeks after former second choice keeper Adam Legzdins departed the Alex for Burton Albion.

With number one Steve Phillips, who recently signed a two year deal at Gresty Road, also out for the opening games of the season, Dario turned to former Crewe boss Steve Holland, now Chelsea’s reserve team manager, in the search for back up between the sticks.

Despite not yet making a first team appearance, the 20 year old is said to be highly rated in the Chelsea ranks having signed a new two year contract in November.

A Wales Under-21 international, Taylor made eight appearances for Chelsea reserves last season and spent two months on loan at QPR towards the end of last year though failed to make an appearance.
