Young guns Ollie Turton and Brendan Daniels are amongst half-a-dozen youth graduates ready to open talks over extending their deals at Crewe Alexandra.

“I will sit down with the players over the next couple of weeks and see where we are” – Steve Davis

Turton, 20, and Daniels, 19, plus England youth goalkeeper Ben Garratt, 18, are all out of contract at the end of the current season as manager Steve Davis decides on exactly who he wishes to keep.

“There are eight or nine young players, including Brendan and Ollie, Andy White and Ben Garratt, who are out of contract in the summer and we are already moving on that front,” Davis explained to This is Staffordshire. “I’ve spoken to the chairman and I will sit down with the players over the next couple of weeks and see where we are.

“There are one or two players who have been playing regularly too, who are on low pay and we need to put them in line with the rest of the team,” he added.
