Sutton joins Rangers

21 year old defender Richard Sutton has elected to join Blue Square Premier side Stafford Rangers, the youngster who was released by the club last month has put pen to paper on a permanent deal at the Staffordshire club.

He will be in familiar surroundings as he spent last season on loan at Marston Road and he clocked up 37 appearances and impressed the management team sufficiently to offer him a deal, the centre-back joined Crewe as a ten year old and progressed through the Academy and signed pro terms in 2005.

The Stoke born defender was unable to break in to the first team at Crewe and has also had a loan spell at fellow Staffordshire team Leek Town. He didn`t figure for the first team and will now be looking to get his career back on track in the non league circuit.

He will now join up with his new team mates for pre-season training ahead of the new campaign which begins with a trip to Farsley Celtic on Saturday August 11th.
