Season ticket sales at Gresty Road are set to surpass last year’s efforts as fans look to take advantage of this week’s discount deadline.

Alex followers can purchase their season tickets at 2005 prices before an increase ahead of the new campaign. That has already attracted a recent injection of fresh support for the club after maintaining their original promise to freeze prices.

“There has been an incredible buzz around the club and in the town ever since we embarked on this record 19-game unbeaten run,” club spokesman Rob Wilson told The Chronicle. “I’m sure the play-off experience and the day at Wembley is something that will live long in the memory.

“Now with the recently published fixtures, we can look forward to League One football again,” he added. “I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the likes of Sheffield United, Coventry, Preston and Portsmouth visiting Gresty Road.”
