Crewe Alexandra striker Mathias Pogba is still looking for twenty goals in his first season in the Football League.

“Every game I want to score for Crewe” – Mathias Pogba

The 22-year-old netted his fourteenth of the campaign as the visitors secured a first win in three games against Colchester United at the weekend.

“I started out early in the season with an objective to get to 20 goals this year, so to get to 14 means I have a chance,” Pogba explained to Crewe’s official website. “Every game I want to score for Crewe. I did it at Colchester and it helped us win the game so I am very happy with this.

“When I score and we win it is perfect,” he continued. “If I score, I score. If I don’t, I don’t. But I always do my best and the most important thing is always that the team wins.”

Whatever happens, Pogba has already beaten his tally of a dozen goals in 42 appearances at non-league Wrexham last season.
