Striker Shaun Miller is set to start the new season with Crewe Alexandra despite his name being circulated as available.

Manager Steve Davis confirmed there had been no firm offers for the 24-year-old who fell out of favour following only six goals in 36 games last season.

There was initial interest from a League Two club which was never seriously followed up. As a result he is set to be included in the squad for the weekend friendly at Congleton.

Meanwhile, former Crewe loan midfielder Jamie Lowry has signed for Plymouth Argyle after leaving Chesterfield, where he netted twelve times in 127 appearances.
