Crewe Alexandra striker Max Clayton is facing up to a challenging few months while recovering from injury.

“I think I will come back stronger physically and a better player” – Max Clayton

That follows the nineteen-year-old suffering a fractured ankle in the FA Cup first round replay defeat to Wycombe Wanderers last month.

“It will a tough few months for me but in a weird way I am looking forward to the challenge,” Clayton told Crewe’s official website. “I will use the time to build myself up and make sure that when I come back I am raring to go again.

“I think I will come back stronger physically and a better player,” he continued. “I know I have a lot of hard work ahead of me but I have the right people at home and the right people here. I am treating it as a positive and although it is a dramatic injury, it could a good period for me physically.”
